REX ROOTER pulls permits for all TRENCHLESS
sewer replacements prior to work. We replace the old sewer by accessing the existing
drainpipe underground thru two holes, one near the house and another near the sidewalk,
easement or property line. First, we cut out the grass and remove it carefully so we can
install the existing grass after the installation is completed. REX ROOTER protects all
surfaces such as landscaping and concrete with plastic tarps or plywood prior to excavating soil.
We remove 3ft. of the existing exposed sewer pipe underground at both ends and feed a
long heavy steel cable thru the old existing drain, from the first hole to the end hole,
up to 100ft long. The cable is then connected to a large steel bursting head that looks like a bullet.
The bursting head is connected to 20ft lengths of Polyethylene pipe fused together,
with high heat, up to 120ft long, permanently preventing any root intrusion into connections.
The Cable at the end hole is connected to hydraulic equipment that pulls the cable up to 12,000 PSI.
The bursting head is pulled underground by the cable and thru the existing drainpipe, bursting the
old drainpipe and allowing the polyethylene pipe to follow. The pipe is then pulled with the cable
to the end hole where the bursting head is removed and the remaining pipe sticking out at the beginning
hole is cut off. Both ends are connected to the existing pipe at the house with a required cleanout access
and near the sidewalk to complete the job. It is inspected by the city, buried and the
soil compacted properly. Most TRENCHLESS work is completed within 2-3 days, including inspection, with the sewer being off line for less than 4-6hours. Many jobs are done without any
evidence of work ever being completed!
NOTE: all our TRENCHLESS / SEAMLESS POLYETHYLENE PIPE replacements are GUARANTEED AGAINST ROOT INTRUSION and have a LIFETIME WARRANTY!!!
